Project Management Consultant - Advisor/Coordinator
Contract

An Advisor/Coordinator typically works in a matrix role coordinating and facilitating the making and implementation of decisions. They are responsible for regular monitoring of stakeholder input and provide advice and some analysis. Typical scope of work includes:

Gathering existing plans and tasks.

Maintaining and updating the project plan, project documentation, activity schedules and correspondence.

Tracking and reporting on project status.
-
Providing a summary of time worked broken down by project and deliverable on a weekly basis.

Tracking project change requests.
-
Preparing and coordinating documentation in response to scheduled and unscheduled reports, and returns observations to update management of project progress.

Maintaining the schedule baseline, assessing variance and recommending corrective action.
-
Evaluating the impact of risks and scope changes on the project schedule.
-
Developing Microsoft Project Schedule and status reports.
-
Maintaining and updating a WBS.
-
Developing and maintaining a WBS Dictionary.
-
Developing a Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) scope statements, statements of work, compliance charts and diagrams.
-
Evaluating the impact of risks and scope changes on the WBS.
-
Assisting in performing such tasks as maintaining project documentation and application/system libraries.
-
Maintaining and updating relevant project information in manual and/or electronic files. Develop Responsibility Assignment Matrix (RAM).

Updating/maintaining Risk Management Plans.

Assisting in the production of draft plans and sections for incorporation into the Project Implementation Plan or Request for Proposal.

Maintaining the project budget.
-
Developing Organization Breakdown Structures (OBS).
-
Assisting in the production of draft evaluation plans, criteria and evaluation schedules.
-
Assisting in the development, planning, analysis, evaluation and prioritization of deliverables and requirements.
-
Preparation of the Master Project Plan.
-
Planning and developing Project Management Plans in accordance to PMI guidelines.

The candidate will have a minimum of five (5) years experience in Project Management. At least 2 years familiarity with project planning best practices as defined by the Project Management Institute (PMI). He/she will have progressive experience in some or all of the following areas:

Scope definition and planning of several IT projects

Monitoring of several IT projects using deliverable-oriented measuring techniques

Development of cost and schedule forecasts

Hands-on management of small projects
-
Development and presentation of management status reports
-
Community College Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering Technology, or Business Administration.
- Most positions require fluency in English
- Many customers also have a requirement for abilities in French.
