Project Management Consultant - Scheduler/Analyst

Engagement Description: 

A Project Management Scheduler/Analyst adds significant, often specialized analytical value to data. The data they work with is often used as the basis for PM decisions. They provide analytical support to the PM function and are typically a tool or process expert. Typical scope of work includes:

  •  
    • Evaluating the impact of risks and scope changes on the project schedule;
    • Evaluating the impact of risks and scope changes on the WBS;
    • Maintaining the schedule baseline, assessing variance (in cost, time and scope) and recommending corrective action;
    • Operating and maintaining the continuous risk management system;
    • Working with the Project Team to identify, assess and prioritize potential strategies and prepare contingency plans for the residual risk exposures;
    • Performing on-going tracking and statusing of risks and mitigation;
    • Recommending the use of control measures;
    • Using the RiskRadar software package to track and record risk management activities and to prepare reports;
    • Facilitating brainstorming sessions and workshops;
    • Communicating and reporting regularly on the status of risks;
    • Following a risk management plan and standard operating procedures;
    • Identifying and documenting any deviations between the standard operating procedures and the risk management plan;
    • Following and maintaining the schedule and WBS for risk management;
    • Drafting and maintaining a close-out plan for the risk management function;
    • Providing expert advice in defining new requirements and opportunities for applying efficient and effective solutions;
    • Identifying and providing preliminary costs of potential options;
    • Preparing monthly status reports, including work performed during the period including identified areas of concern and recommendations for improvement.
Experience: 

A candidate for this type ofd role will have a minimum of fifteen (5) years experience in the area of project management.

Education: 

University Degree is desirable.

Candidates will be rated higher if they have a degree in Business Administration or Project Management.

Language Requirement: 
  • Most positions require fluency in English
  • Many customers also have a requirement in French
Certifications: 

Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification would be an asset.
