Project Management Consultant - Project Administrator

Engagement Overview: 

Project Administrators support project leaders and decision-makers by collecting and processing data, as well as provide administrative and clerical support for the project team.

Engagement Description: 

A Project Administrator works with data to support the decision makers. They contribute to the decision support process by collecting, inputting, cleaning, correcting and processing data. They are responsible for quality of data and perform routine or administrative tasks to support the project team. Scope of Work includes:

  • Participating in project meetings to record minutes, actions and record of decisions.
  • Providing administrative and technical support of a clerical nature as required to a project team.
  • Carrying out related PM support tasks as directed by the PM.
  • Tracking Project Requests.
  • Assisting project management and data processing professionals, technical users and end users in simple routine tasks.
  • Communicating with project management and data processing professionals, technical users and end users on administrative matters related to the project.
  • Providing change control and tracking.
  • Providing project control support to team leaders.
  • Providing timely and accurate reports to management.
  • Providing assistance in the creation of a project management office.
  • Coordinating the activities of project personnel, internal customers, contractors and other support providers.
  • Coordinating project management activities including financial, planning and contracting aspects.
  • Assisting in budget development, administration, tracking and maintenance.
  • Facilitating project planning meetings
  • Giving briefings on progress and concerns of project.

The Project Administrator must have experience with at least one of the following PM tools:

The Project Administrator must have experience with at least one of the following spreadsheet applications:

  • MS Excel
  • IBM Lotus 1-2-3
  • Corel Quattro Pro

The Project Administrator must have experience with at least one of the following word processing applications:

  • MS Word
  • Corel WordPerfect

The Project Administrator must have experience with at least one of the following PM Methodologies:

  • Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBoK)
  • Project Management Framework (PMF)
  • Rational Unified Process (RUP)
  • Other (Specify)
Experience: 

Successful candidates must have a minimum of 1 year experience in project management and/or administration plus 1 year in information technology within the last 6 years.

The Project Administrator will have experience with Project Management methodologies; MS Project or equivalent (e.g. Gantt charts); Budget Administration and tracking; Spreadsheets such as MS Excel, Lotus 1-2-3, and presentation programs such as MS PowerPoint

Education: 

Community College Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering Technology, or Business Administration

Certifications: 

None

Language Requirement: 
  • Most positions require fluency in English.
  • Many customers also have a requirement for abilities in French.
