Project Management Consultant - PM Process Specialist
These specialists typically assist with developing decision-making processes by reviewing existing work processes, organizational structures, and work and decision flows. They may also develop potential solutions and modifications to automated processes.

A Process Specialist supports the decision making process. They design/build the decision making process. They develop and define processes that define the Project Management function. Typical Scope of Work for the PM Process Specialist includes:

Reviews existing work processes and organizational structures.

Analyzes business functional requirements to identify information, procedures and decision flows.
-
Identifies candidate processes for re-design.
-
Prototypes potential solutions.
-
Provides trade-off information and suggests a recommended course of action.
-
Identifies the modifications to the automated processes.
-
Provides expert advice in defining new requirements and opportunities for applying efficient and effective solutions; identifies and provides preliminary costs of potential options.

Provides expert advice in developing and integrating process and information models between processes to eliminate information and process redundancies.
-
Identifies and recommends new processes and organizational structures.
-
Provides expert advice on and/or assists in implementing new processes and organizational changes.

Documents workflow.
-
Uses business, workflow and organizational modeling software tools.
-
The ideal candidate will be detailed, process oriented, and analytical.

A strong Leader, and a good Communicator.

An expert in their area.

Familiarity with the ISO 12207 processes.

Familiarity with the following frameworks: Project Management Body of Knowledge Framework (PMBoK); Enhanced Management Framework (EMF); ITIL Framework.

Familiarity with the following methodologies: Productivity Plus; EDS – SLC; SDLC; Method/1.

Familiarity with the following analysis methods: Chen; Coad/Yourdon; Gane & Sarson; GRSM and BTEP; Information Engineering; Martin; Problem Frames; Rumbaugh; SSADM; UML; Yourdon/DeMarco.
The candidate will have fifteen (15) years experience in the area of project management. Successful candidates will also have the following:

Experience managing large programs/projects.

Experience in defining multi-year phased implementation plans.

Experience defining and establishing project methodologies, processes, and associated tools/templates.

Ability to work with minimal technical oversight.
-
Experience establishing and performing program oversight functions.
-
Experience in working closely with senior management and staff to learn and document their business processes.
-
Experience in reviewing, assessing and evaluating an organization’s processes.
-
Experience assisting organizations improve processes in order to increase quality and reduce risk, cost and project schedule length.
-
Experience defining and establishing sets of operational procedures, processes and checklists within an organization.
-
Experience in developing methodologies for the management of projects.
University Degree at the Bachelor level.
Candidates will be rated higher if they have attained a post graduate degree in Business Administration or Project Management.
- PMP (recommended)
- CMC or CMA (recommended)
- Most positions require fluency in English.
- Many customers also have a requirement for abilities in French.
