Satellite Communications Engineer
Contract
Engagement will, typically, be for one year or less.

Satellite communications (SATCOM) engineering services shall include the work that shall require knowledge and understanding pertaining to the following areas:
- SATCOM system, SATCOM segments and SATCOM equipment specifications, drawings;
- Satellite operations, control and security;
- Design and analysis System planning, development and design;
- Link budget calculations and analysis;
- Payload resource control, including on-board processing;
- Satellite switching, including Baseband switching;
- Ground terminal development and design;
- Ground Station Operation of the space-based C4ISR systems;
- National and international SATCOM services;
- Tariff methodologies; and
- Military satellite communications (MILSATCOM) engineering services, which requires knowledge and understanding of the following areas:
- MILSATCOM programs and systems of Canada, US, UK, Australia, France, other NATO countries and international commercial satellite communications programs/systems, international government programs;
- Low probability of intercept;
- Anti-jamming techniques;
- Communications and transmission security; and
- Waveform and protocol analysis.
Communications systems and information management engineering services shall include, but not be limited to, the planning, modelling and simulation for the Communications and information management systems for the areas mentioned in the sub-sections hereunder.
A minimum of 3 years demonstrated experience in satellite data reception technologies in the last 10 years is required.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering
English - fluent
P. Eng. or Equivalent
