It is the responsibility of a Recruitment Specialist to separate those candidates who excel from those who are average in skills. In light of this objective, the ideal candidate for the Resource Specialist position must be able to demonstrate the following:

    • Ability to use independent judgment and manage and effectively impart information to others.
    • Strong and proficient written and oral communication skills.
    • Possess professional maturity and at times exercise discretion in dealing with confidential and highly sensitive information.
    • Possess a professional and courteous phone and social interaction manner is required.
    • Ability to gather data, analyze information, and prepare both written and electronically generated reports.
    • Ability to develop custom language in response to complex RFP documents, and an ability to quickly develop a firm understanding of the gamut of SOMOS' product and service offerings, and how they may fulfill each clients' individual requirements.
    • Possess time management skills in order to establish priorities, handle multiple projects simultaneously, and meet competing deadlines.
    • Solid interpersonal, collaborative and teaming skills.
Engagement Description: 

The SOMOS Recruiting Specialist position has been designed to help develop, implement, and maintain an innovative and effective resource strategy to meet our ever-increasing business needs, relative to identifying, assessing, and securing talented consulting resources.

Working closely with and under the direction of, the Human Resources and Recruitment Manager, the "core function" of this position is to deliver both proactive and immediate-need resource services. To facilitate this entails the following:

    • Recruiting - Addresses SOMOS' requirements for qualified consultants to meet our business needs.
    • Proposal Support - Assists in the development and writing of proposals.
    • Management Reporting - Keeps Management informed of all issues regarding consultants including status, resource challenges, alternatives, and recommendations.
    • Consultant Communication - Provides services to our consultant base.
Experience: 
  • 3-5 years (minimum) proven and solid recruiting experience in a fast-paced, multi-level, project based environment with an emphasis on timelines and delivery is required.
  • Extensive experience performing candidate interviews is required.
  • Extensive experience working in a highly computerized environment is required. Extensive Microsoft Office Suite experience is required, (Lotus Notes experience would be considered to be an asset).
  • Experience assisting in the development and writing of proposals is required.
  • Experience assisting in the administration of an office environment is required.
  • Knowledge of how to utilize on-line, electronic job application systems and processes is required (e.g. Workopolis).
Education: 

Relevant post secondary degree or diploma in Human Resources, Business, or equivalent.

Language Requirement: 
  • English - fluent
  • French - considered an asset
Certifications: 

Possession of the CHRP designation (or working toward this designation) considered an asset.
