Project Recovery in 48 Hours - An Application of the TOC++ Framework
Presentation Abstract
This presentation will provide participants with an overview of the TOC++ framework, an outline of patterns of project failure and then the steps taken to recover a failing project, using the TOC++ framework.
Specifically, the following key topics will be presented:
- Overview of the TOC++ Framework: an integration of the following methods: Theory of Constraints; Lean/Six Sigma; OOA/OOD; and Functional Size Measurement.
- Pattern of Project Failure: a frank discussion of what doesn't work, including: current requirements methods; project controls; and forecasting methods.
- Project Recovery in 48 Hours: a series of steps, with examples, that shows how to recover a failing project. These steps include: Situational Map, Goal Map, Constraint Map, Feature Map, and the Intervention or Recovery Plan.

John Gardner is a Certified Management Consultant (CMC) and Certified Enterprise Architect with over 25 years experience in public and private sector organizations. Mr. Gardner specializes in Project Recovery and Operational Excellence.
Formerly with Deloitte and PriceWaterhouseCoopers, Mr. Gardner is Managing Partner and founder of JVG Consulting.
