Course Overview

The SOMOS MoP™ course begins at the Foundation level, with training delivered over three days.   The course is based on 5 flexible Principles which provide the foundation for a successful Portfolio Management (PfM) practice.   On completion of this course, participants will achieve a detailed and practical understanding of the MoPprinciples.  The Foundation course concludes with a multiple choice exam.

The SOMOS MoPPractitioner course examines the MoPmethodology in greater depth and provides corporate portfolio managers with the tools to better coordinate and plan their investment in Programmes and Projects.  These two days of training conclude with as exam, with successful participants receiving the designation of MoP Practitioner. 

Course Dates and Location
In association with Advantage Learning Ltd., SOMOS is offering the MoP™ Foundation course in Ottawa February 27th through 29th, and the MoP™ Practitioner course will run March 1st and 2nd, 2012.  Classes start at 8:30 AM and typically run until 5:00 PM.
This course is scheduled to be given at the SOMOS Offices, 4019 Carling Ave. Ottawa.  Parking is free of charge at this location.

About MoP™ (Management of Portfolios) is the Portfolio Management standard available from the Cabinet Office.  Portfolio Management (PfM) plays a critical role in organizational survival and growth by providing better co-ordination and investment in Programmes and Projects, improving risk management, encouraging collaborative working, and by providing timely, accurate information to enhance management decision making.
 
 
Attendees taking both courses are eligible for 35 PDUs towards their PMP certification.
