e-Commerce Web System Development
IT Department - Government Department

Our client needed to push the limits of technology, scale, response time, and processing to build a custom n-tier database application system using WebSphere and Oracle. The team - while technically skilled - lacked the management depth to carry it off under the tight constraints of time, budget, and shifting user demands. SOMOS provided a team that included a senior project manager, an information architect, and several technical specialists over the course of the project. During the post-project review, the auditor described the team's performance as "nothing short of remarkable."

PeopleSoft HRMS Implementation

A SOMOS project manager led the implementation of the PeopleSoft Implementation Project at the department. The consultant provided the leadership and management expertise to plan and execute the fit analysis, product customization, programming, and implementation of the PeopleSoft Human Resources Management System in less than half the originally budgeted time.

Inspection System

A SOMOS project manager led the completion of the inspection automation system. This involved planning, monitoring, and reporting on the activities of several consultants developing different components of the system. Meetings were held regularly with the client manager and the consultants to ensure adequate communication and successful performance.

Automated Personnel Support System
Government Department

A SOMOS consultant was the project manager responsible for the design and development of a custom-developed personnel support system. This interactive, on-line system was developed using CICS and DB2, with PACBASE as a CASE tool. A rigorous system development methodology, configuration management procedures, and quality assurance standards were followed. Our consultant had full project and contract responsibility, as well as line responsibility for the project team.
