Course Description: 

With more than 70% of their time spent in communications activities of one type or another, it is essential that project managers communicate effectively. Project communications management involves organizing and controlling the information flow between project stakeholders through the project life cycle.

The SOMOS Managing Project Communications course is an in-depth look at the communications tools and techniques necessary for successful project management. It addresses individual or interpersonal communications as well as the organizational communications within projects.

Using a combination of lectures, individual and group exercises, case studies, videos, presentations, role playing, and other media, the SOMOS Managing Project Communications course is a dynamic and stimulating experience that develops and exercises the most important skills of project management.

Objectives: 

After completing the Managing Project Communications course, participants will know the basic interpersonal communications tools and techniques. They will know how to run effective meetings and will have practiced presenting, selling, and negotiating.

This course also prepares participants to write the Project Communications Management component of the Project Management Professional (PMP®) examination of the Project Management Institute (PMI®). Attendees earn 14 Professional Development Units (PDUs) for their PMP® Certification.
