Implementing Change

Course Description:

Implementing Change is a three-day, hands-on, skill-based course that is designed to get to the 'nuts and bolts' of implementing change whether you are managing, leading or following.

Public sector managers face many ongoing challenges managing waves of change within their organization to respond to Service Canada initiatives, contracting issues, results orientation new Human Resource management policies, and multi-cultural workplaces.

Attendees will learn a tested six-step model for introducing and managing changes as well as essential change management skills - practicing communication, conflict resolution and negotiation skills - that are needed to make change happen.

Topics covered include the three core stages in change implementation, three "must-have" people skills, why people resist change, and why people will drive change. In summary, you will acquire the skills to plan, lead, and guide the change effort. This course provides a deep dive into a few core concepts blended with extensive skill practice. The focus is on implementation and ensuring a successful outcome.

The course is based on real world experiences in the public sector and is delivered by instructors with public sector experience.
