Structured methodologies for the design, development and implementation of applications
Data modeling methods and tools (ERWIN, Visio) including a working knowledge of metadata structures, repository functions and data dictionaries
Analytical problem solving and decision making skills

Middleware and gateways
Designing/developing an automated data distribution mechanism

Engagement Description:

The Information Architect will develop and implement the data architecture for application development in a complex and distributed environment. This includes the determination of the flow and distribution of data, the location of databases and data access methods.

Experience:

The successful candidate must demonstrate through work experience their use of information retrieval packages, awareness of emerging IT trends and directions as well as experience in monitoring and enforcing data modelling/normalization standards.

Experience must also include the use of data modeling methods and tools (ERWIN, Visio) including a working knowledge of metadata structures, repository functions and data dictionaries. The candidate must have applied experience using CASE tools and have experience in the development and implementation of data architectures. The candidate must poses advanced knowledge in information resource management tools and techniques.
