Course Overview

The SOMOS Managing Successful Programmes (MSP®) training is in two parts: a four-day foundation and a one-day advanced component for those who wish to become accredited practitioners.

The MSP® Foundation course is a four-day course for Senior Project Managers who want to manage an entire portfolio or group of projects.  This course provides a practical road map from conception to close for all types of high-level programmes and a framework to deliver transformational project portfolios that benefit stakeholders, the business, and the bottom line. It is a necessary building block for the MSP® Practitioner course.

The MSP® Practitioner course is a one-day follow-on course to the MSP® Foundation course. It examines the MSP® methodology in greater depth and provides Project and Program Managers with the tools to effectively lead programmes of all sizes and types. By the end of the course, participants will be fully prepared for the official MSP® Foundation and Practitioner exams.  These exams are held in the final stage of each course.

Attendees must have successfully completed the four-day MSP® Foundation course in order to take the Practitioner course. Most participants take the two courses together.

Attendees taking both courses are eligible for 35 PDUs towards their PMP certification.

About PRINCE2® and MSP®

PRINCE2® (Projects in Controlled Environments) is a widely used international standard for Project Management that navigates you through all the essentials for running a successful project. It builds on the definitions and structure of PM knowledge and defines a series of processes, components, and techniques that can be applied when managing any size or subject of project.

It provides project managers with a practical road map from conception to close for all types of projects and a framework to deliver projects that benefit stakeholders, the business, and the bottom line.

Managing Successful Programmes (MSP®) is an extension to the PRINCE2® methodology that defines a series of processes, components, and techniques that can be applied managing groups of projects or programmes.  MSP® explains how to run a portfolio of interlinked projects to make the tactical and operational changes required to transform an entire organization.
