The 2022 Somos Industry Awards: Recognizing Excellence in Consumer Advocacy

Thanks to several simultaneous efforts across the industry, fraudsters have seen their plots “shaken” up in the last few years. Take for example the fact that, in the first year after STIR/SHAKEN was implemented, robocalls to Americans dropped by 14%!

Between third-party apps from companies such as YouMail, Nomorobo and Hiya, call-blocking features from carriers such as AT&T ActiveArmor and T-Mobile's Scam Shield and more intense, regulatory, punitive and financial sanctions – like the FCC’s proposed $116M robocall fine for Toll-Free Traffic Pumping – the industry has worked tirelessly to mitigate and prevent telecom fraud.

Knowing this, it seemed only fitting that this year, at the 2022 Somos Summit, we recognize those whose leadership, commitment and consumer advocacy have been essential to mitigating fraudulent activities and scams.
