It’s been proven time and time again that an empowered workforce is more engaged, higher performing, more productive and better aligned with an organization’s goals. So what can we do to ensure that our employees, particularly women in the organization, are truly empowered? One way to build confidence is to provide critical career guidance and professional development growth.
It is for all the reasons above that Somos is excited to be a returning sponsor for the 2019 Women in the Law conference hosted by Northeastern University School of Law (NUSL). The conference, which is geared towards women attorneys, powerful decision makers and other professionals at all stages of their careers, provides a range of keynote speakers, breakout sessions and top-notch panels that help empower professional women to believe in themselves and excel professionally.
“As a graduate of NUSL – Go Class of 2001! – I am excited to be an active participant in this event, both as an attendee as well as a member of the Women in the Law conference steering group,” says Gina Perini, Somos’ President and CEO. “I love how the conference helps position professional women to not be afraid to take chances and encourages them to take the leap into a power role.”
This year’s conference is destined to be yet another exciting experience. Attendees, including a number of members of Team Somos, will be inspired by Keynote Speaker Nancy Hogshead-Makar, CEO of Champion Women. Ms. Hogshead-Makar is not only an Olympic champion and civil rights lawyer, but also a leading advocate for girls and women in sports. She’s played a leading role in championing gender equality in athletics and combatting discrimination and sexual harassment.
