Air Travel

Attendees are responsible for booking and paying for their own travel to and from Las Vegas, Nevada. McCarran International Airport is the primary airport serving the Las Vegas area. Estimated travel time from the airport to Encore Las Vegas is approximately 15-30 minutes (4 miles).

Most airlines ask you to check-in at least 75 minutes prior to your scheduled departure time. Checking the status of your flight before departing for the airport is recommended in case there have been changes to your scheduled departure time.

Checking Luggage

Payment for checked luggage is the responsibility of the attendee. When checking luggage at the airport, please be sure not to pack travel documents, medication, or valuables (such as electronics or jewelry) in your checked luggage.

Travel Identification

Government-issued identification, such as a driver’s license or passport, is required to pass through airport security checkpoints. The name on your airline ticket must match the name on your identification. Please keep this in mind when booking air travel.

Airport Security Screening

The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) employs state-of-the-art advanced imaging technology to detect a wide range of threats to airport and transportation security. Advanced imaging technology (AIT) is safe for all passengers; the technology is in compliance with national health and safety standards. The TSA has implemented strict measures to protect passenger privacy, which is ensured through the anonymity of the images produced. However, AIT screening remains optional for all passengers. Passengers who opt out of AIT screening will receive alternative screening from a TSA agent, including a physical pat-down.

Transportation in Las Vegas

Arrival: All attendees are responsible for their own transportation to the Encore Las Vegas.

Departure:  Complimentary ground transfers to McCarran International Airport have been pre-arranged for Thursday, October 11th. Shuttles will be departing the Encore Las Vegas every 30 minutes from 7:00 AM – 12:00 PM.

Local Las Vegas Information

Las Vegas, in Nevada’s Mojave Desert, is a resort city famed for its vibrant nightlife, centered around 24-hour casinos and other entertainment options. Its main street and focal point is the Strip, just over 4 miles long. This boulevard is home to themed hotels with elaborate displays such as fountains synchronized to music as well as replicas of an Egyptian pyramid, the Venetian Grand Canal, and the Eiffel Tower.

Weather

October in Las Vegas means perfect temperatures to capture the last remaining bits of summer.  Temperatures will average between highs of 82˚F in the day and 54˚F in the evenings.  As it can cool off in the evenings, we suggest you bring a sweater or jacket.
