Additional Security Safeguards for Users of FCC’s CORES System

On March 7, 2024, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) announced new measures to help safeguard user accounts on the FCC’s Commission Registration System (CORES).

Responsible Organizations are subject to annual fees as per FCC regulations, and all payments must be made through CORES. To bolster security measures, effective March 29, 2024, CORES will be implementing a two-step login authentication process. This process involves requesting a six-digit secondary verification code, which will be sent to the email address(es) associated with each username. Users must enter this code into CORES before they can proceed with their login.

To learn more about this new enhancement, please review the Public Notice here.

For inquiries or assistance regarding the implementation of multi-factor authentication on CORES, please submit a help request directly to the FCC at https://www.fcc.gov/wtbhelp or call 877-480-3201 (Monday-Friday, 8AM-6PM ET).
