Toll-Free Numbers are an important way that businesses and organizations connect with their customers and text enablement is an additional valuable feature.
On Thursday, April 20, a new release 1.16.0 is being launched that enhances the Texting & Smart Services (TSS) Registry business logic.
Currently, the TSS Registry process for Pending text enablement requests is to move the request to an Expired status when Responsible Organizations (Resp Orgs) do not take any action within two business days. In these cases, the request is expired.
With this new release, requests in which the Resp Org does not take any action will be moved from a Pending status to Expired-System-Approved status, which means that the request is Approved. Resp Orgs will continue to be notified of all pending requests, and have two business days to review them.
In addition, this new release will provide a set of reasons for a Resp Org to use when rejecting a text enablement request. Please note: These reject reasons are consistent (where applicable) with the Resp Org Change (ROC) System, as we are aligning our processes wherever possible and practical.
- Customer name mismatch/missing
- Address mismatch/missing
- Contact/Customer signature missing
- Toll-Free Shared or Bundled
- Customer signature date missing/or expired (must be less than 30 days)
- Sent to wrong Resp Org
- Toll-Free Number not listed on request
- All data mismatch
- LOA missing or linking Reseller/Subscriber LOA missing
- Illegible LOA
- More recent LOA (provide a copy of LOA to Resp Org)
- Unauthorized Contact/Customer signature
Moving forward, to reject a request, the Resp Org needs to choose one of the reasons above. Resp Orgs will not be able to reject requests for other reasons.
This change improves the overall user experience for both Service Registrars and Resp Orgs, by removing the additional time required to process an expired override request. The change also further ensures neutrality and open competition.
