The Conversations Powering Trust at Somos Summit
This November 2-3, the 2026 Somos Summit heads to the Capital Hilton in Washington, D.C., where leaders from across telecom, policy, financial services, technology and beyond will come together to explore how Restoring Trust Starts with Us.
Our Day One Power Sessions will feature important discussions on the forces shaping trust across the communications ecosystem. Attendees will hear from industry, regulatory and legal experts on how telecom leaders are responding to fraud, strengthening accountability, navigating evolving Federal Communications Commission (FCC) priorities and preparing for the next phase of modern communications infrastructure. Together, these sessions will highlight the shared work underway to protect consumers, support responsible innovation and build greater confidence in every connection.

Fraud continues to challenge trust across the communications ecosystem, putting pressure on providers, policymakers, enterprises and consumers alike. In this Power Session, Somos will bring together industry experts NCTA (The Internet & Television Association), USTelecom and NTCA (The Rural Broadband Association) for a closer look at how leading telecom trade associations are responding to today’s fraud landscape.
The discussion will explore how the industry is moving from awareness to action through education, policy advocacy, cross-industry collaboration and emerging best practices. Attendees will hear how telecom leaders are working together to protect communications, strengthen accountability and restore confidence in every connection.

Regulatory action is a key part of restoring trust across the communications ecosystem. Joel Bernstein, VP & Head of US Public Policy & Government Relations at Somos, will moderate a discussion with FCC Bureau Chiefs Joseph Calascione, Eduard Bartholme and Hunter Deeley on the priorities shaping enforcement, rulemaking and consumer protection. Attendees will get a front-row look at how the FCC is responding to evolving fraud threats, driving greater accountability and helping protect the connections people and organizations rely on every day.

As FCC priorities continue to evolve, organizations need to understand what new and ongoing proceedings could mean for their business, customers and operations.
In this Power Session, Somos will be joined by experts from Rainfall Strategies LLC, Lerman Senter and Reticulated Strategies LLC for a legal perspective on key regulatory issues shaping the communications ecosystem, including Know Your Customer (KYC), Know Your Upstream Provider (KYUP), intercarrier compensation and the transition to modern communications infrastructure.
Panelists will help attendees make sense of the regulatory landscape, identify areas of potential impact and better prepare for what comes next.

Toll-Free remains a trusted connection point between businesses and the people they serve. As IP-based networks create new possibilities for routing intelligence, the industry has an opportunity to make Toll-Free experiences more flexible, responsive and precise.
This session will move beyond the technology itself to explore what better routing can make possible, from smarter decision-making to stronger caller experiences. Panelists will discuss how new capabilities can be applied responsibly across the Toll-Free ecosystem while keeping trust, interoperability, regulatory alignment and practical value at the center.
From fraud prevention and policy advocacy to legal insight and routing innovation, the Day One Power Sessions will give attendees a deeper look at the collaboration needed to strengthen trust across the communications ecosystem.
