Less Friction, More Control: The Next Evolution of TFNRegistry
On April 22, Somos hosted a webinar to help TFNRegistry™ users better understand current enhancements and more importantly, what’s to come! Led by Somos’ Michael Smyth, Senior Product Manager, Rebecca Shepherd and Sushil Inaganti, Product Managers, the session walked through recent TFNRegistry innovations, offered a preview of the redesign and introduced the new Somos Hub.
As we recapped in the first blog, the TFNRegistry will be migrating to the Somos Hub in Q1 of 2027 and an open Industry Beta program will be launched in Q3 of 2026. This beta is an opportunity for allusers to participate in testing.
The last 18 months was both productive and impactful in terms of enhancements made to the TFNRegistry, all designed to address real user needs and boost the overall TFNRegistry experience:
More control over UNS notifications: Users can now choose which Resp Orgs they receive notifications for in the User Notification Center
Expanded TFN auto-formatting: Added support for plus-led E.164 formats and vanity numbers exceeding 10-digits to reduce edits and formatting errors
Real-time alerts across TFNRegistry: New alerts provide immediate updates on system status and incidents
Faster troubleshooting and clearer tracking: Exchange Search now supports filtering by transaction ID and Help Desk and Submission History include additional statuses for better request insight
Stronger data integrity and auditability: New tools help identify and remove invalid POTS values and a new template record history page provides a quick timeline of recent updates
Disaster recovery support: A high-priority capability enables customers to update KICs during an event and revert back once normal operations resume
Designing for Efficiency
The new redesigned TFNRegistry experience is a modern refresh built to make common tasks easier to navigate and faster to complete. The new look and feel improves readability and consistency across screens so users can find what they need quickly and improved navigation to move through workflows with less friction. Just as important, the redesign sets a stronger foundation for the Somos Hub migration in early 2027.
What to expect:
Cleaner, more consistent design for faster scanning and easier navigation
Customizable dashboard quick links, including one-click access to your top three pages
Smarter template search and filtering on the dashboard
Global “Jump to” search to navigate by screen titles or quickly look up a Toll-Free Number
Streamlined workflows with fewer steps, including consolidated notification and carrier approval screens
More unified login experience for users managing multiple TFNRegistry IDs
The goal is clear: ensure the platform remains secure, efficient and built on a strong foundation while continuing to enhance the user experience. That means making TFNRegistry more intuitive, more streamlined and more effective for the way you work today without disrupting the workflows and structure you already know.
