Webinar FAQ

We at Somos know our platform plays a key role in the everyday business of Responsible Organizations (Resp Orgs). In order to keep the Toll-Free industry competitive in today’s technology-driven markets, and to better position our customers for the future, we’re re-engineering the SMS/800 Toll-Free Number (TFN) Registry into a powerful, sophisticated platform worthy of the digital age.

The SMS/800 TFN Registry has been rebuilt from the ground up, providing a user-friendly interface that is accessible by both Web Based User-Interface (UI) and Application Programming Interface (API). The new interface is compatible with iOS, Windows, and Android, and accessible with today’s most popular web-browsers including Google Chrome, Safari, Internet Explorer, and Firefox. Responsive design has been a core element of the new build. We know that business today is done on more than your desktop, so we’ve ensured that accessing the registry on your smartphone or tablet will be a seamless and intuitive experience. We also eliminated the need for a dedicate VPN connection which streamlines access.

Furthermore, we’re bringing the magic of APIs to the Toll-Free industry through the SMS/800 TFN Registry. APIs are machine to machine programs that fetch data from a source and bring it back to an outside application just as fast as you need it to. By incorporating API support in the SMS/800 TFN Registry, your applications can utilize the information offered by the registry with speed and efficiency like never before. They offer an opportunity to automate time-intensive operations in the SMS/800 TFN registry pipeline, making your business faster and more effective than ever.

Since this is in fact a “rebuild,” we’re releasing the registry one layer at a time. We’ve prioritized the release of an API set comprised of the top three most frequently used features of the SMS/800 TFN Registry: searching for and reserving Toll-Free Numbers, changing system passwords, and accessing Toll-Free Number statuses — these APIs are available now.

It should be noted that while support will continue for WBA and MGI, support for the Enhanced SMS/800 Platform and 3270 will be discontinued after the fourth API update (Spring 2018).

Below are a few training videos you to walk you through the Graphical User Interface and new API.
