That's why the Communication Fraud Control Association (CFCA) recently announced its latest initiative – the Handset Trafficking Task Force. This innovative coalition, officially launched in August 2023, is set to reshape how the industry addresses illegally acquired and resold handsets.

The Handset Trafficking Task Force marks a pivotal moment in the fight against fraud within the Telecom sector. Bringing together major players, including Mobile Network Operators (MNOs) and Online Retailers, this united effort showcases a commitment to safeguarding both businesses and consumers from the detrimental effects of handset trafficking.

At the forefront of this coalition's efforts stand distinguished members of the telecom industry, including Somos' Vice President, Product Management, Jaime Zetterstrom, Steve Schwed, Verizon and Adam Panagia, AT&T. The trio will co-chair the new Handset Trafficking Task Force.
